Sea Kayak Instruction - Get started the right way! Introductory (1 Day)
This one day introductory course is geared to those that have an interest in sea kayaking but don't know where to start. Our goal is to offer you a fun safe way to get started. We will instruct you in: (a) choosing a boat and equipment that best fits you, (b) basic paddling strokes and (c) the fundamentals of sea kayak touring and safety. The day will be filled with a sea adventure and exploration tailored specifically to your pace, needs and interests.

Intermediate (3 Days)
Our intermediate clinics are geared to participants who possess limited paddling experience and are looking at moving from doing day trip to multi-day trips. The program includes navigation, weather, rescues (self and group), clothing/equipment selection and care, and wilderness first aid. On-the-water experience and theory are combined to give an informative and fun-filled weekend.

Advanced (5 Days)
For participants who have a fair amount of experience, yet want to learn more. So if you are planning extended trips, this is the course for you. This on-the-water course expands on information learned on the introductory and intermediate courses. The major emphasis is placed on leadership techniques, navigation, tides and currents, wilderness first aid and environmental ethics.

"Adult Paddle School Weekend"

These 2 days are designed for those people wanting to develop their paddling skills and become familiar with self rescue techniques. Learn efficient paddle strokes, braces, wet exits, rescues, and be introduced to the kayak roll.
Guide Training (11 Days)
If you are a guide in the outdoor field and want to upgrade or transfer your skills, or you are considering becoming a guide, our Guide Training sets you on the right course. During this five day course, which will run like a typical sea kayaking tour, you will learn how to safely lead groups on the ocean. Specific skills you will learn include: chart reading, navigation techniques, trip planning, tides & currents, wind & wave dynamics, group leadership skills, basic rescues and strokes, and environmental ethics.

Kayak "Rolling" Instruction:
This course is designed for people who are comfortable with the fundamentals of kayaking and want to learn a new skill to help boost their confidence and enhance their boat control, or for those familiar with the roll who want to learn off-side or hand rolls. Emphasizing technique, safety, and a 4:1 student:instructor ratio, our real reward is your smiling face after your first successful roll!
Private Instruction and Family Learning
We are happy to offer private instruction and tours for individuals or families wanting to learn or further their kayaking skills. If the sea frightens you we can arrange lessons in a pond where winds, tides and waves are not an interference.

RESCUE COURSES
Rescue 1
Have a few laughs with a few splashes while learning self and group rescue techniques and bracing in this afternoon on the ocean. No kayaking experience is necessary.

Designed to increase your rescue skills, our Rescue 2 afternoon teaches intermediate rescue skills, boat/victim approach, slings, towing, signalling, and crisis management.
