 As the president of Adventure High Inc., I send my greetings and welcome you to our paradise. Since 1989 we have been running quality adventures in some of the most fascinating coastal areas in the world. Our adventures are aimed at people (like you) who are looking for fun and challenge!! As the only sea kayaking and cycling company on Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick, we pride ourselves on offering individual, personal, and unique service.
 | The year 2005 has been a busy year for us in the Adventure High family. First, my son Isaac is 4 years old now (time really does fly) and he seems to love boats and the water as much as I do! Who knows, maybe in a few years he'll be guiding kayak tours and then even take over the business. As many of you know we purchased a piece of property in the new historical site in Seal Cove; the piece of land is on the Seal Cove Creek beside the most beautiful sand beach on Grand Manan. We have debated (a lot) whether to move the base from North Head to this new site. There have been many man hours put into this new location cleaning and reinforcing the structure, but for right now we are staying put in North Head. We have several ideas for the Seal Cove property (maybe too many), so stay tuned to see what happens there.
With 2005 over, it was successful season with the cabin and we are happy to report that we were 98% booked for the summer season. With positive feedback from our great guests, we have truly made it into a unique island getaway for couples. We have folks booking years in advance, wow!! Our alternative powered cabin is not only a great getaway but the feedback from you folks is that it is a great learning experience too. We have added new package deals for the cabin, so please check it out.
Beginning with only 5 kayaks, we have grown to include a fleet of 20 kayaks and 18 bikes! So now the outdoor enthusiast (that's you) can view the splendors of Mother Nature from two different perspectives - land and sea. Since our first official kayak tour launching, we have put close to 30,000 guests through our exciting outings. It has been a rewarding number of years and we have learned a great deal from you, our guests.
When we started, our focus was on offering extended multi-day tours but we soon found out there was a need for more variety. With the help of staff, friends and family we moved into offering bike rentals and tours, and increased kayaking tours to include full day, 1/2 day, multi-day, and tours down south. In Summer 2001, we starting offering our "nature retreat" cabin for rent.
With all things there is evolution and Adventure High and I are no different. My interests have always included alternative power and housing and with that in mind, Adventure High has branched out into selling alternative power equipment. Adventure High is a proud new dealer for Soltek Powersource of BC. I will also be starting to build my dream home here on Grand Manan - timber frame & hay baled walls - that will be alternative powered.
As the president, I feel that it is important to play an active role in the development of adventure travel environment and in the sea kayaking industry. For this reason Adventure High is a member of the Outdoor Operators Association Of New Brunswick, Association of Eastern Canadian Sea Kayaking Outfitters, and the Grand Manan Tourism Association.
Adventure High has also been the proud recipient of New Brunswick's "Savvy Traveller Award". This award is given to companies for the high quality of service and professionalism that they offer to their guests
